The Irish News was on hand to report on our Assembly and Opening Ceremony. Previously we would have had to book a place for this event, but we are now fortunate to be able to hold such gatherings in Tobar Mhuire. The day was scheduled as part of our on-going reflection on our life and mission. About 30 gathered to take part in the day. Dr. Michael O Leary presented the findings of a Personnel Audit and helped the gathering to make sense of the results. Some decisions were taken towards the end of the proceedings. Having such a large group of our men present we used the opportunity to bless the Chapel and new Icon Crucifix. The feedback on the renovations was very positive, the men were impressed with the renovations and appreciated the new Stations of the Cross situated in the Chapel Square.
This Thursday the 3rd February we will re-open the Chapel to the public begining with First Friday Confessions (details in the News section). The following day the Community will transfer their morning liturgical celebrations to the Retreat Chapel: Morning Prayer of the Church at 7.45am followed by Eucharist at 8am all welcome.

As a student at Tobar Mhuire ( 1958-63) the article brought back many memories of life in the beautiful location that was Tobar Mhuire. The student population of sixty plus students from all over Ireland enjoyed a qualitative education from the wonderful Passionist fahers. I have lived in Canada for the last thirty years and am very interested in keeping in touch with anyone who was a part of Tobar Mhuire in my time period spent at Tobar Mhuire.
