The summer of 2014 saw the official launch of the new Tobar Mhuire Trails. We were delighted to have Gerry Kelly from BBC Radio Ulster present to help facilitate the launch. Already the trails are well used and a great meeting place for our neighbours from the village.

You have seen the trailer, now for the movie.
We hope you enjoy this presentation and that it will encourage you to walk the new trails. Our thanks to Paul and Brian for the work they have put into this presentation. One of our volunteers Paul is working on a video of the new trails. In order to get our interest he released this trailer. Normally when we post something on the Tobar Mhuire Facebook we get two or three hundred hits but with this trailer we got just under two thousand. It's going to be some film.
The boys and girls of P7 from St Colman's Primary School in Annaclone brought a lot of life and fun to Tobar Mhuire as they had their Confirmation Retreat with us on Friday. They described a "retreat" as "going back to base to plan the road ahead" - I think a lot of adults who visit us would certainly be impressed by that understanding!
We had the pleasure of hosting the Benedictine Monks from Holy Cross Monastery in Rostrevor for a day's visit to Tobar Mhuire. It was a day of great encouragement for the community as we shared fellowship and fraternity with the Benedictines. They brought their unique blend of spirituality, friendship and fun, and hopefully we will see many such visits in the future.
The monks are pictured here enjoying our new walking trail. Following a most productive partnership with Outdoor Recreation, almost 3 kms of walking and cycling trails are nearing completion around the woods of Tobar Mhuire. This will be a great resource, particularly for the people of the village of Crossgar and surrounding area. We look forward to the completion of the trails with way markers to guide people around the beautiful grounds and information panels to give people some of the history behind Tobar Mhuire and the village of Crossgar.
Our Lady's Primary School, Deanby Gardens were the first group to use these walks as part of the Confirmation Retreat with us. Thanks to all the girls for giving the walks their seal of approval! We have also been successful in securing funding for the creation of a pond area in the Prayer Garden. Further information to follow shortly. We are pleased with the support we received during our latest fundraising efforts. Both the Christmas Fair and the Christmas Candlelight Dinners were a great success. These events have a value in themselves they are a way of bringing people together and celebrating the great gift of life that we have been blessed with. These fundraising events are also critical to help us maintain our life and ministry here in Tobar Mhuire. Thank you for your on-going support lets together look forward to a New Year of welcoming people to this Sacred Space, and pray that we can continue to provide a place for human encouragement and soul-refreshment..
