Out of the dust and dirt the new Tobar Mhuire has emerged. Still retaining it's legendary warm homely atmosphere but renewed and refreshed and ready to welcome old and new friends alike.
Building on the great legacy of former Passionists we have exciting plans for the future of Tobar Mhuire Retreat and Conference Centre.
We are now a well equipped modern Retreat and Conference Centre, set in sixty acres of woodland, in the heart of County Down. Visitors will enjoy our new facilities as well as the peace and quiet of the wonderful surroundings.
We welcome individuals and groups from Ireland and beyond who wish to take time out to reflect on their human and spiritual development. In Tobar Mhuire they will find a peaceful setting and encouragement from the Passionist Community who reside there.
We invite not only individuals and groups already committed to the Faith but also those who have yet to discover a sense of the Sacred in their lives. Those still searching and questioning will find a welcome in Tobar Mhuire.
The Passionist Community extend a welcome to their sisters and brothers of the Reformed Churches and hope that the resource that is Tobar Mhuire Retreat and Conference Centre will become a shared blessing for all.

Wishing a Happy and Blessed Christmas to all our friends
On behalf of the Passionist community and staff at Tobar Mhuire, may I wish all our friends and benefactors a very happy and blessed Christmas.
Thank you all for your support of all our fundraising activities in the run up to Christmas. These were both a great way to welcome old friends and new back to Tobar Mhuire as well as an enjoyable means for all of us to raise much needed finance.
The Christmas season is a privilaged time for memory. The memory of a loving God who emptied himself to be born in manger; the memory of many happy Christmas experiences shared with family and friends, and poignantly, the memory of loved ones who will not be at our Christmas tables or receive visits this year.
May they all remain very much alive in our hearts and in our memories this Christmas Day.
May we all both enjoy the Christmas festivities and have much needed fun and rest, but may we also see beyond the tinsel and lights to ponder on the mystery of a God who loves us so much that he was born among us.
